Tennis has its roots in the ancient play of the handball, played in Greece a long time before the Christian era. During the average ages it developed concerned to handle the beater rather the ball between two adversaries than against a wall. The name comes from, French of tenez take or. ready Initially it had no line of border there, but gradually a court was slightly developed the shape of a sand glass, with a line traced through the narrow central portion.
The balls early were made of leather and faggots of the hair.
Is there such a thing as the Ultimate Tennis Fitness programme?
Well I suppose that depends upon what you would call "ULTIMATE".
The problem you faced before was that you knew that getting fitter could only help your game, but you weren't quite sure how to go about your tennis training in the best way.
Everybody you spoke to had their own favourite routines, but which was the "right" one?
Well to avoid confusion and in an effort to clear things up I will go ahead and point out the three main areas any good tennis fitness programme should address.
1. Areas of Fitness
Strength training should be implemented into a tennis squad training program to assist the players in developing more power in their shots and thus improving their game. It is also essential as a precursor to starting plyometrics training. Too often we see inexperienced trainers and coaches making their young players perform these high-impact power training exercises that have more of a negative impact on the athlete than a positive one. Strength training before Power Training!
I have even seen tennis coaches continue to push their players through a plyometrics training session even while these young athletes complained that their knees were hurting. Lunges are one exercise that will cause major discomfort to a young and underdeveloped player.
The availability of engraved tennis trophies means that clubs and individuals have a way of providing inexpensive, yet impressive, awards to their members or visiting players who achieve success in tournaments; made in metals that look fantastic but donât cost the earth, the engraved tennis trophy is a quick and apt way to honour winners, as well as making an interesting gift or presentation.
